Psychotherapy

Transcendence- how we can move from struggle to empowerment

We seek therapy for a number of reasons - at times due to a specific experience and at other times because we feel that there are patterns that we would like to address and / or change

Whatever the reason, the process of talking through our feelings and thoughts, in a safe, non-judgemental space, can, in itself, be healing and can propel or create change

You might feel lost in life, stuck, powerless, unable to function in the world without a mask, endlessly comparing yourself to those around you and never feeling or believing that you are enough or have enough

You may have suffered a loss, are unable to find a purpose in life; you may feel that you lack in confidence and self-esteem; feel that you need a crutch to help you through your day (whether that be smoking, drinking, shopping or any other activity which increases the loneliness and separateness that you may experience); you may perceive yourself as being stuck because of a trauma that you have experienced and are unable to move through; you may feel broken

All of these are human experiences and we can explore the feelings and thoughts that we create around them

It is possible to heal, to grow and to have each challenge in life become a step towards empowerment

You are not alone – healing through connection

We can feel as though we have to manage everything on our own

By reaching out and through connection, we can move towards seeing ourselves, our experiences and our lives differently

I truly wish this for you and would be honoured to support you on your journey towards healing and becoming your own oracle

My approach and therapeutic methods

My therapeutic method is Transpersonal though I use a combination of perspectives which includes Family Systems Theory, Person Centred and Psychodynamic orientations

Transpersonal counselling is centred on the (non-religious) spiritual aspects of human life and Family Systems theory is based on who you became in the family you grew up in

Therefore, during counselling I may ask you questions about your family history and look at how it may relate to your current situation

We may examine patterns in your life that you may feel are no longer effective, look at the beliefs that drive them and explore new options
